Digital, Analog and Vision Systems - a single-certified QQI module

Level:QQI Level 6

Accredited by:Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI)

  • No dates

This is a core module (15 ECTS) on the full Level 6 in Industrial Automation Technology (QQi  - 120 credits) At the end of this 6-day module (split over 2 weeks) learners will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the technology and construction of digital, analog, and vision sensors.
  • Analyse the suitability of a range of digital sensors to meet a manufacturing performance specification.
  • Demonstrate, including applying appropriate health and safety procedures, setting-up and wiring, a range of digital sensors for stable sensing taking into account sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Demonstrate the application of logic functions and logical fault-finding to an automation system containing sensors, to find and resolve faults in a sensor circuit.
  • Discuss the effects, from a maintenance perspective, of environmental factors on sensor systems.
  • Explain the role of a programmable controller in relation to sensors and their role in the generation of fault/alarm messages.

Dates for classes are set 'on demand' from member companies for on-site delivery. Dates for classes for individuals are also available by contacting the Skillnet..
