About Skillnet Ireland

Skillnet Ireland is the national agency responsible for advancing workforce learning and development across Ireland. As a Government of Ireland business support agency, it is funded through the National Training Fund under the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.

Skillnet Ireland’s enterprise-led model ensures that training is shaped by industry needs. Sectoral groups, such as Engineering Industries Ireland, can establish Skillnet Networks to address specific skills gaps. This approach guarantees that training is practical, relevant, and impactful—driving real improvements in business performance.

With over 70 Skillnet Business Networks and national initiatives, Skillnet Ireland supports Irish enterprises through targeted upskilling programmes, strategic insights, and business development supports that enhance productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability.

How Skillnet Ireland Supports Engineering Skillnet

Our collaboration with Skillnet Ireland enables us to deliver high-quality, specialised training to our member companies at significantly reduced costs. Through this co-funding model, we are able to:
